All about the new base iPad refresh!
The most affordable iPad in Apple's lineup was just refreshed yesterday with a minor spec bump and here is everything about it:
The base model iPad was the bestselling and most affordable iPad in Apple's lineup. However, this price came with caveats. One of these was the Display, which uses the old design with thick bezels on either side. But on the inside, the iPad was no slouch, now packing the A13 Bionic SOC with the Neural Engine, Apple claims a 20% increase in performance across apps from the previous generation, equipped with the A12.
One surprise announcement was the inclusion of the new 12 Mega Pixel Ultra-Wide angle front facing camera with Centre Stage, first announced for the iPad Pros earlier this year. This allows the base iPad to dynamically adjust framing on the fly in video calls and meetings.
The base model starts at the same $329 starting price but now include 64Gb of internal storage, a welcome addition as the previous 32Gb was simply not enough in 2021.
