In the United States, AppleCare+ will now cost $199 ($249 AU) with the MacBook Air, originally it cost $249. This new price applies to both M1 MacBooks and Intel-based MacBooks, even though Apple does not sell their Intel-based models anymore directly from their website.

For those who do not know what AppleCare+ is, it is an extended warranty and technical support plan for your Apple device. Normally you get a one year warranty with the device you purchased, but if you purchase AppleCare+ you will get an extended warranty, up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months. 24/7 priority access to Apple’s technical support experts via online chat or through the phone. You also receive Apple-certified repairs using genuine Apple parts for a reduced price.
