Best Wallpaper Apps on Android (2021)
Updated: Jun 4, 2021
Customising your phone has always been a fun and popular experience. Changing the interface, icons, and function to your liking always makes your technology feel yours, and what some people can come up with is just superhuman. One of the most, yet easiest ways to customise your device, is through wallpapers! Vectors, images, and backgrounds can shape how your phone looks. So without further ado, here are 5 terrific Wallpaper apps, on Android.
1. WallPix
First off, we got WallPix, my all-time favourite because of the sheer number of Wallpapers, and its slick easy UI.
With Wallpix you have many pages, such as the Trending, Favourites, and My Favoruite, Categories to find what type of wallpaper you exactly want. Kind of like if Instagram was a wallpaper app.
It doesn’t disappoint much with the wallpapers either, real-life pictures, as well as animated ones, look awesome no matter what device you’re using. You can easily set wallpaper by pressing on it when you find it in a gallery and pressing the set option.
Don’t get me started on the notch wallpapers though, as they are beyond comparison, probably the best you’ll get from any app!
Overall Wallpix is seriously amazing, the only feature I would potentially want them to add is maybe a custom wallpaper settings size it would be accustomed to any screen.
2. Zedge
Although Zedge isn’t the most popular one on the list, it carries a large amount of customisation.
Zedge mainly carries pictures that aren’t animated, but aren’t real-life pictures either, it sounds confusing, but think of it as a vibrant photoshop of a real image. (Digital Art)
With many Mottoes and sayings, Zedge has the wallpapers for all your motivational needs.
Although there aren’t too many wallpapers currently, new ones are uploaded every week.
Zedge also is a full-on customisation app that doesn’t just focus on wallpapers, you can get cool ringtones, and keyboards that are as terrific as the wallpapers themselves.
3. AMOLED Displays
AMOLED Displays, as the name suggests, is a wallpaper app meant for AMOLED Displays. It focuses on dark images that are vibrant, giving the best “wallpaper experience at night time”.
AMOLED Displays have self-emitting Pixels, and when made to display the colour Black, the pixels are turned off, so this app predominantly features Dark Wallpapers, the kind that are just as aesthetic in the day whilst not blinding you at night.
Although the wallpapers still work with other display types, it is meant to extract peak performance and quality when on an AMOLED Display as it says.
4. Abstruct
Although I never was, and probably never will be, a fan of abstract wallpapers. I can get why many people enjoy using those specific types of wallpapers.
Their clean and minimalistic aesthetic, makes them great for HomeScreen Setups.
Although there are only Abstract wallpapers here, there are many of those, from Vibrant to Void Wallpapers.
My favourite is the AOSPA wallpaper type, any time I”m trying to customise my home screen to a have a uniform theme, Abstract is the app of my choice.
5. Naturify
As I’ve probably mentioned, my favourite wallpapers are high-quality real pictures, and Naturify is the perfect app for me.
First off, the UI is really helpful, where you have a section to see whatever you want in Categories and the Most Popular ones. The best part comes when you want to set the wallpaper, as you get rendered the highest quality image.
You can adjust the image, from saturation to brightness, and the image quality still stays the same. You’ve got millions of possibilities, kind of like making your wallpaper, and personalisation is the peak of customisation.
