A recent statement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has got everyone hyped about "THE NEXT GENERATION OF WINDOWS"

One of the most significant updates of Windows of the past decade is coming very soon. I've been using it over the past several months and I'm incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows -Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO

On the opposite hand, Microsoft had said that Windows 10 Will be the last version of Windows, but that was back in 2015, and a lot has changed in the last 6 years. Nothing is confirmed as of yet, but we do have information about three major changes that could be coming:

1. A News Windows Store

Along with a brand new look, Microsoft will be featuring three major developer-related policies.

  1. Developers will be allowed to publish unpackaged Win 32 Apps to the app store

  2. Developers will be able to host apps on their own CDNs.

  3. Developers will also be allowed to use third party e-commerce

2. A Brand New UI

Windows 11, codenamed "SUN VALLEY" is bringing major UI changes to compete with other Operating Systems like macOS. Sun Valley will bring new icons for pretty much every app, making it a lot more modern and aesthetically pleasing. We will also wee rounded edges on pretty much everything, from app windows, to drop downs, to the start menu! On the topic of the start menu, we will also see a redesigned start menu. It will be inspired by Windows 10X and will give the OS a new look entirely.

The action centre from Windows 10X is also coming, with a few minor tweaks.

"Instead of bringing a product called Windows 10X to market in 2021 like we originally intended, we are leveraging learnings from our journey thus far and accelerating the integration of key foundational 10X technology into other parts of Windows and products at the company." - John Cable, head of Windows servicing and delivery

3. New Features

The main focus on the features will be on Snap Assist that will help in multi-tasking and multi monitor connections. The Battery app is also getting an overhaul with more detailed battery analytics. Microsoft is also working on an updated dashboard.
