New Instagram Scam “This took me 3 hours to make”: DO NOT CLICK ON THIS VIRAL SCAM – Here’s why!
You might have seen or heard about the new viral Instagram scam going around. Many Instagram users have reported these messages from random users saying “This took me 3 hours to make. I hope you like it, Look: https://bit.ly/3zqbSkq”
This message is basically telling you that they have edited some photos for you and they would like you to check them out, but that’s not it. It's worse than you think.
If you ever receive a message that looks similar to this (“This took me 3 hours to make. I hope you like it, Look: https://bit.ly/3zqbSkq”) DO NOT CLICK ON IT. If you do end up clicking on the link, hackers are likely to hack your account and steal your data.
If you end up clicking on this link - Do the following:
1: Immediately Change your password. Instagram Help Centre
2: Turn on 2FA (Two-Factor-Authentication. What's two-factor authentication and how does it work on Instagram? | Instagram Help Centre
Report the account:
1: Click on their profile picture.
2: Then, tap the three dots in the top right hand corner.
3: Press “report”.
4: Press “report account”.
5: Then, press “it’s posting content that shouldn’t be on Instagram”.
6: Then, scroll down and click “possible scam”.
