OnePlus and Apple are companies with opposing ideals. One wants to provide the Flagship Experience at the lowest price possible, while the other sets the bar for the "Flagship Experience", whilst being flamboyant with the pricing. That does not, however, mean that OnePlus hasn't followed in Apple's footsteps, as the company has been launching a lot of products recently which are influenced by the tech giant's products.
DroidMaze and Neowin have learned that OnePlus (through Beijing Intangible Technology) filed for a “OnePlusTag” trademark on May 18, hinting at possible development of a rival to Apple’s AirTag devices.
Now, this is just a trademark, and no announcements have been made, but companies usually trademark phrases only when they expect to use it in the near future.
We expect the OnePlus Tag to be cheaper and provide much of the same functionality, but whether they replicate the Precision Finding and seamless integration of AirTags is up for speculation.
