Unofficial AMD FSR support for GTA V via mods.
AMD FSR, the FidelityFX Super Resolution upscaling technique recently launched by AMD has been unofficially modded into GTA V by a NarutoUA. AMD boasted about the ease of implementing AMD FSR in games and it seems like it really is easy to implement this technology in older games and newer ones alike.
The mod is still in its early stages a ported version of AMD FSR which replaces the in game upscaler of GTA V. We could expect it to be become even better when AMD releases the source code of FSR. You can try the mod out for yourself from NarutoUA's GitHub repo:
I recommend trying the mod out in offline mode to avoid getting banned.
NarutoUA also uploaded a video on YouTube showing off the implementation of FSR in GTA V in multiple scenarios.
Considering this is a ported implementation it's doing a really great job and it definitely has the potential to become better when AMD releases the source code of FSR to the public. Modding communities will be pumping out FSR mods for games as soon as the source code goes public
This will be good news for the majority of the budget gaming audience as AMD FSR will allow them to experience games they never could've due to hardware limitations. It will also give an extended life for older GPUs especially in this huge GPU crunch we are going through
